What we collect when you ask for a quote, why we collect it and how we look after it.
In short
We collect only what we need to quote and book your detail. Your quote request is emailed to us and is not stored on this website. We do not sell or share your details for marketing.
1. Who we are
Relax Detail is an owner-run mobile car detailing business based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, serving Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Langley and Maple Ridge. We are responsible for the personal information we collect, and the owner acts as our privacy contact.
We follow the BC Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
2. What we collect
When you use the free quote form, call, text or email us, we may collect:
- Your name and phone number
- Your email address, if you give it
- Your town and the address where the car will be detailed, once you book
- Your vehicle make, model and size, and the service you are interested in
- Your preferred date and anything you tell us about the car, such as pet hair, stains or paint concerns
- Photos of the car, if you choose to send them
3. Why we collect it
We use your information to prepare a quote, book and confirm your appointment, contact you about weather or schedule changes, carry out the work and answer questions afterwards. We do not use it for anything else without asking you first.
4. How the quote form works
The form sends your request to our business email. The website does not keep a copy in its database. The form uses a hidden check to stop spam and limits how many requests can be sent from one connection in an hour.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only when needed to run the business, for example with our email provider, or when the law requires it.
6. Cookies, analytics and other services
This site does not use advertising cookies or tracking at the moment. The fonts and map are served from this website itself, so loading a page does not send your details to Google Fonts or a map company. The map shows OpenStreetMap data, prepared with Protomaps, that is stored on our site.
We may add a website analytics tool later to see how many people visit and which pages help them. If we do, we will update this policy before it goes live and tell you what it collects.
7. How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and job records only as long as we need them to serve you, handle any follow-up and meet our tax and accounting obligations. After that we delete them.
8. How we protect it
Our email and business accounts are protected by passwords and limited to the owner. No method of sending or storing information is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to keep your details safe.
9. Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it when we no longer need it. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
